Leech Lake Head Start and Early Head Start Programs
The Head Start (HS)and Early Head Start (EHS) programs serves between 150 to 200 students annually. The program operates nine months out of the year with other subsidiary programming operating year-round.
Head Start Program
The Head Start program serves primarily 3–5-year-olds with classrooms located in Ball Club, Bemidji, Bena, Cass Lake and Onigum. There are an average of three teachers per class with an average class of 15 students.
School Hours:
Monday -Thursday | 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
Wrap Care:
7:30 am - 5:00 pm [Cass Lake only]
- 7 Classrooms [AOB]
- 4 Classrooms [Outer Centers]
- 3 Teachers per class [average]
Requirements:
- Well Child Check
- Dental Exam

Early Head Start Program
The Early Head Start program serves primilary six-weeks to three year-old children. The service area include Ball Club, Bena, Cass Lake, and Onigum. There are an average of three teachers per classroom with an average of less than 10 students per class.

Monday - Friday | 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

7:30 am - 5:00 pm [All Centers]
